Pell City School System Duran North Jr. High History teacher, Mr. Dana Bloodsworth, is the Department of Alabama Veterans of Foreign Wars winner of the Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year Award for 2018-2019. He is also being considered for the VFW National Teacher of the Year award.

Virginia Cook of Montevallo Middle School
Congratulations to ACOE member Virginia Cook for being selected as Montevallo Middle School Teacher of the Year. Virginia was also selected as the Shelby County Middle School Teacher of the Year! Virginia said “it was so beautiful to see so many of the colleagues from different schools all together, knowing they were being recognized for one of their ‘heartbeats’. This was truly a special gift from God receiving this recognition.”
